Retirement (continued)
When Nancy retired on the 15th of January 2002, we packed up the RV trailer
camper and headed for Florida to visit friends in St. Augustine Beach. They
were still working, albeit from home, so after a long weekend with them, we
started across Florida toward St. Petersburg where a cousin of Nancy’s lived.
In the middle of the state we found an RV park with an 18-hole golf course,
called Shady Brook. We spent four days there and played the golf course a couple
times. After a long weekend with Nancy’s cousin and her family, it was back to
Mississippi. We travelled in the RV that summer for a month and enjoyed
camping and visiting friends and family. A month in the RV was doable so we
decided the next winter to go to Florida for two months at Shady Brook. The next
summer it was two month tours in the RV, so why not three months at Shady Brook. We
repeated this again and again.
